In anticipation of the visit, Ron had prepared us well with many emails with brochures and descriptions. Because we only had limited time for an onsite visit, Ron made a good pre-selection based on our wishes so that we could get the most out of our visit. During the 1.5 days that we were together, there was also room for improvisation and ad hoc visits. All this led to the purchase of an apartment with a sea view in Lomas 5 Higueron. It went incredibly quickly because it felt good, Ron gave his honest and non-binding advice and at the same time also space to think carefully. We experienced the process as very pleasant and Ron's expertise was indispensable. We do have to wait about two years for the delivery, but that is a very nice prospect!

After years of dreaming and philosophizing, we finally decided last summer to buy an apartment on the Costa del Sol. Where and how, we didn't know exactly. But somewhere between Malaga and Estepona and with a view of the sea. That was certain. During our search, Ron took us to a large number of homes in a very professional and calm manner. Directly on the sea but also in the mountains with a view of the sea. A diverse range of possibilities and each and every one of them beautiful apartments. In September we visited many different homes in 4 days. In the end, we still didn't succeed at that time. Despite all our efforts and beautiful apartments. But our image of what we wanted and what we didn't want had become a lot clearer. After returning to the Netherlands, we carefully examined our wishes and requirements and based on our "hard" requirements, Ron made a new selection of apartments. After that, things went quickly. During our visit in November, we hit the jackpot on the first day. We managed to buy a beautiful apartment on the sea. Exactly what we wanted and what really appeals to us. Thanks to the patience, listening well and understanding of what we want, but also the boundless dedication of Ron, this has been possible. Also in the entire process before and after the purchase of the house Ron is always willing and available to assist with advice and action. And that in an extremely sympathetic and friendly way. For us Ron was the ideal intermediary to search for a house in a country where you do not yet know your way around in these kinds of matters. During several trips Nicole and I fell in love with Andalusia. Both the coastal area and the inland, around every bend another beautiful view and what you can visit on a day trip from Estepona is amazing. The atmosphere that Andalusia breathes gives us a very good feeling. We would like to stay here longer... but how do you start?

We regularly looked on television and the internet at the possibilities to buy something in the area of Estepona. Estepona is located between the sea and the Sierra Bermeja that turns a beautiful red in the evening and morning light. You have a magnificent view of this mountain just up from the coast west of Estepona towards Casares and surroundings. There or rather here in this area we want to find something, a quiet place where you can return to after a day or a bit longer of being out and about and then relax with a good book, a drink on your terrace with a beautiful view of nature, a dip in the pool and a tasty snack.

There is an incredibly wide range of existing homes in Andalusia, something for everyone and at every price. We were also curious about the possibilities of new construction, but how do you achieve this remotely. By looking on the internet again, we came across new construction projects that appealed to us and then it really starts to itch. But beware, the supply that has been sold in the meantime sometimes remains on internet sites for years without being removed after the sale. We came to the conclusion that there is only one good way and that is to travel to see what the effective supply is. And you can't do that alone.

Last January [2018] we decided to visit the Spain Expo fair in Waregem for this purpose. This is the real estate fair in Belgium and the Netherlands for those who want to buy in Spain. We visited various exhibitors there, real estate agents with knowledge of the Spanish real estate market who tried to give us as much information as possible. There we also met Ron de Vries from SLG Property at the expo stand and had a pleasant, informal conversation about our wishes and the paths you can take in the run-up to purchasing real estate in Spain. They also know the right people to provide you with legal assistance in your own language in Spain to ensure that the purchasing process runs smoothly .

Back home, the itch is even greater, and you think, there are still a few exhibition fairs in the coming months, if we can travel to Malaga now, then we have the first choice, right? In October last year I had also seen the Project Mirador de Estepona Golf, announced as a new project, but could not find anywhere whether this had already been commercialized. This project is located in the perfect area for us. Coincidentally, this Project went on sale on 15/01/2018. During our Expo fair visit on that Saturday we had visited various real estate agents and already on Sunday evening I received from Ron de Vries an overview of 7 new construction projects in the area of Estepona that were in our line of thought and that if we were interested we could visit them on site for 2 days without obligation.

Then things really took off. We emailed back and forth for 4 days and eventually we came up with 12 projects to view in 2 days. We booked the flight to Malaga for the Sunday after receiving the first email from Ron de Vries and the next day we visited various projects in the Estepona area with colleague Willem Bruins. What was so incredibly nice about this, Willem and Ron mainly listened to you, you visited various projects that were really within your area of interest. After the various ooohs and aaaahs during the planned visits, you eventually come to the realization yourself which project is the best for you and this is partly made possible by the relaxed/calm way in which both brokers guide you in this without any form of pushiness.

We signed a Reserva for the New Construction project shortly after, have now received the message that the building permit has been issued by the municipality of Estepona and in September they will start the construction works. Completion is expected early 2020. We are very satisfied with the path we have chosen for our purchase of real estate in Spain .
